Learning Goals

This course is designed for upper-level Master studies in Comparative Politics, International Relations and International Law and combines knowledge of current framework of Global Governance with analysis of activities of key Public Policy Actors of different nature - Governmental, Commercial and Non-Governmental - which shape up global policy agenda

Learning Objectives

− To give a coherent definition of global actors, their types, aims, and influence

− To consider intergovernmental, business organizations and civil society institutions as global actors.

− To analyze and compare global actors, global institutions and global instruments

− To present modern forms of international conflict management and other global a agenda issues

Students will have the following knowledge

− Know the basic concepts of globalization, actorness and global governance

− Know the major concepts of public policy and social discourse, international relations,

− Know the key issues of the modern international political agenda

Modalità di insegnamento

The course consists of 10 lectures, 2 hours each, per week

The course is an intensive course, and requires very good language skills (both oral and written). Students will have to read materials before classes and must be prepared to discuss them in class. Therefore, although classroom presence is limited to 20 hours, the workload for this course is equivalent to that which is required by a 40 hours course
