Obiettivi formativi
In this course, I will show the use and the limits of mathematical models in the social sciences, psychology and sociology, with an emphasis on the economic approach to human behaviour. I will investigate collective decision-making, and show how social institutions, such as private property, markets on money, influence our relation to nature. The course will conclude with a focus on climate change and biodiversity loss.
I will focus on theoretical models, and I will keep away from statistics. A basic understanding of functions and calculus (differentiation, maximisation) is required.
