Programma
This second module will be focused on explaining and discussing examples of the transformations that global regulatory regimes produce and experience in the Global South. First, we will study how their implementation recreate different social and normative fields. Second, we will observe how national elites, subaltern groups, and indigenous people deal with the pressures of globalization and are even able to shape and take advantage of its regulatory regimes. A selection of case studies regarding indigenous peoples, water rights, climate change, and environmental movements in Latin America will be used to understand the conflictive, uneven, and contingent contours of globalization.
